Bluff Island Nature Tour:
This adventure starts with a walk up East Beach past the high dunes to Bluff Island where we will explore this lesser known and most remote component of the Smith Island complex. Running west from East Beach, Bluff Island is a forested dune ridge nestled among acres of pristine salt marshes and tidal creek systems. Two ponds hosting large populations of birds can be accessed via state maintained trail systems. Next, at the headwaters, put in with kayak or canoe and float down Cape Creek while fishing, birding or just plain relaxing; unparalleled. Stop on Kim’s Island, a three acre abandoned compound in the middle of paradise. Snacks and water are provided.
(5 hrs, $275/ 2 people, $100 each add.)
